About Ulvi

Ulvi is a character-based AI app that people talk to every day. Every character has a voice, an environment, and a capability of their own: one reads dreams, one pulls tarot, one runs breathing sessions, one helps you sort a messy decision, and new characters bring new capabilities. We launched in August 2026 and we are building for a global audience, with Türkiye and Brazil as our first focus markets. The team is small, so what you ship goes live quickly and you get to watch people actually use it.

About the role

This role holds two crafts. Half of it is character work: you draw our characters and everything around them, and your reference art is what agencies and teammates build from for months. The other half is product design: you improve the app as it is today and shape how new features look and feel. Two crafts in one role is also why this is not a junior position.

Team

You report directly to the founders and sit across two teams, roughly half and half: Product Success for the characters and their world, and Product Development for the app itself.

What you will do

  • Create character reference art that holds across markets: the same face in Türkiye and Brazil, strong enough that others can build on it without you in the room.
  • Produce app assets: profile art, discovery cards, outfits, character environments and store items.
  • Design new screens and features end to end: chat, discovery, profile, store, insights, and whatever we ship next.
  • Improve the screens we already have: hierarchy, spacing, flows, the small things that make an app feel finished.
  • Own the look and feel as the product evolves, and build the design system that holds it, so the tenth screen comes easier than the first.
  • Hand off work a developer can build without a phone call.
  • Watch how people actually use the product, and change your mind when the data surprises you.

What we need

  • The ability to design and illustrate. The tool is yours: software, tablet, AI, pen and paper. What we are after is the skill behind the output, so show us sketches and process work, not only finished renders.
  • Real product design experience. You have shipped screens with states, empty states, errors and the boring parts, and you have improved a live product, not only started new ones.
  • You can hand your work over. Agencies in several markets will produce from your reference files for months, so your files have to be usable by everyone in our ecosystem, delivered at the sizes and formats they are needed in.
  • Interface work in Figma. Our product files live there. If your fluency is in another tool, that is fine; we need you comfortable in Figma within your first weeks.
  • A working sense for typography. The same screen holds Turkish, English and Portuguese; the type has to survive all three.
  • Opinions you can explain. You will get written briefs, and we want pushback on them. “It felt right” is a start; we will ask for the second sentence.
  • A portfolio we can look at before we talk: a link, a PDF, Behance, a folder, whatever shows the work. Send it with your application.

Nice, not required

  • Motion and micro-interaction: Rive, Lottie, After Effects, or wherever you make screens move.
  • Prototyping that feels like the real thing: interactive Figma prototypes or quick builds in code.
  • 3D or stylised rendering.
  • Experience keeping a design system alive across a growing product.

How we work

  • Fully remote, from anywhere in Türkiye.
  • Full-time. Working hours are 10:00–18:00 (TR).
  • Turkish and English day to day.
  • Written-first: short status notes, decisions in documents, few meetings.
  • Bring your own device: we do not provide hardware.
  • Communication runs on Discord.

How hiring works

  • We care about what you can do more than where you learned it. Nobody here will ask which university you went to, or whether you went at all.
  • We read everything that comes in and shortlist from CVs and portfolios.
  • We share the salary range, based on your CV and experience, before the first interview.
  • If we shortlist you, we reach out with a small task. It is short, it looks like the actual work of the role, and it is different for each role.
  • Depending on the task, we will ask you either to send it in ahead or to present it in the interview. If your portfolio already covers the same ground, that can count too.
