About Ulvi

Ulvi is a character-based AI app that people talk to every day. Every character has a voice, an environment, and a capability of their own: one reads dreams, one pulls tarot, one runs breathing sessions, one helps you sort a messy decision, and new characters bring new capabilities. We launched in August 2026 and we are building for a global audience, with Türkiye and Brazil as our first focus markets. The team is small, so what you ship goes live quickly and you get to watch people actually use it.

About the role

Ulvi’s characters are not chatbots with names. Each one has a history, a temperament, a way of using language, a capability they practise, and a list of things they will never say. You invent them, then you write them: the person, the voice, and the world they live in. The cast is growing, and you are the one growing it.

Team

You join the Product Success team and report directly to the founders. You work most closely with our Conversation Quality Analyst, who measures what your characters do in the wild.

What you will do

• Help choose the themes. You research trends, pop culture, interests and user requests, and argue for what we build next. Overthinking and the mystical are live; the third theme is partly yours to find.
• Invent new character sets from those themes, four at a time, once a month, for now. A theme becomes a brief, and a brief becomes people: who they are, how they talk, why anyone comes back to them.
• Create a varied cast with distinct voices: different origins, backgrounds, ages, fields of knowledge, accents, mannerisms, jokes and silences. A reader should know who is speaking without a name attached, and two characters should never read as the same person in different clothes.
• Give each character their signature capability, and write it, not only describe it. Today that is a dream reading, a tarot pull, a breathing session; next quarter it may be something new. Each capability has its own shape, and each is carried in that character’s voice.
• Write the character bible: persona, past, temperament, language profile, taboo list, sample dialogue.
• Write the words people actually meet: openings, closings, notification lines, the small phrases a character repeats until users can quote them. And keep existing characters fresh as the product changes.

What we need

• You know what a system prompt is, and you understand your character will live inside one. You do not need to be an engineer; you need to be curious about the machine your writing runs on.
• The ability to write a character you personally would not want to be.
• Full professional proficiency in Turkish and English. You will write in both: character bibles and other working documents are kept in English, and much of the dialogue is written in Turkish. The writing has to carry a personality, not only information.
• Characters you have written before, in any form: fiction, screenwriting, theatre, audio drama, comics, games. Published or not, it counts. Send samples with your application; we will read them before we talk.
• Revision under measurement. Your characters will be measured, and when the Conversation Quality Analyst shows you where one drifted, you revise based on what the data says.
• A tracing tool in your toolkit. Your characters' conversations run through Langfuse, and part of writing them is checking how they actually behave there. Experience with Langfuse or a similar tool counts; so does genuine eagerness to learn one fast.

Nice, not required

• Portuguese. If you speak it, you will get to use it: writing lines for the bible, checking dialogue, catching drift across all three languages.
• Tabletop, RPG, fan work or anything similar where your characters met an audience. A table you ran, an NPC the party still talks about, a cast readers role-played with. It all counts, and it is all character writing.

How we work

• Fully remote, from anywhere in Türkiye.
• Full-time. Working hours are 10:00–18:00 (TR).
• Turkish and English day to day: working documents in English, dialogue mostly in Turkish.
• Written-first: short status notes, decisions in documents, few meetings.
• Bring your own device: we do not provide hardware.
• Communication runs on Discord.

How hiring works

• We care about what you can do more than where you learned it. Nobody here will ask which university you went to, or whether you went at all.
• We read everything that comes in and shortlist from CVs and portfolios.
• We share the salary range, based on your CV and experience, before the first interview.
• If we shortlist you, we reach out with a small task. It is short, it looks like the actual work of the role, and it is different for each role.
• Depending on the task, we will ask you either to send it in ahead or to present it in the interview. If your portfolio already covers the same ground, that can count too.
